Testing Zap Guardian: Can It Really End Mosquito Bite- Pros and Cons

By maria Aug5,2024

We have been seeing lots of ads for mosquito fighting devices like Zap Guardian but many of them didn’t live up to the hype. Zap Guardian claims to put an end to insect bites. It’s no-spray, scent-free, and promises 100% satisfaction. So we put it to the test.

About The Zap Guardian

The Zap Guardian is a rechargeable mosquito zapper advertised to last 24 hours on a single charge, specifically targeting mosquitoes. According to the manufacturer, it can attract and kill a range of insects using 360° UV light. However, it only offers charging via Micro USB and it’s sold at the price of $29.99 for one.

Does The Zap Guardian Kill Mosquitoes

Not really, The Zapper works fine as a nightlight but doesn’t do much else. It’s just an oddly shaped flashlight and customers have reported that the solar feature does not work. Mosquitoes completely ignore it, even if you have several of them on at once. It might attract moths and small flying insects, but it won’t draw in mosquitoes. This device is made by one company but sold under different names and brands.

Findings

When we tested this product for mosquito control, it only managed to zap about 10-20 mosquitoes, despite being surrounded by swarms. Its effectiveness in a heavy mosquito infestation was disappointing.

What Customers Are Saying

Lots of customers are calling this product a waste of money and some reported difficulties in making returns. We found the majority of these complaints on review platforms like Amazon and Reddit.

It broke the second day of use.
Went to pluge it in and the port was not there/broken. Did not even work to prevent mosquitos.
Recommend not buying this product.

It has yet to zap 1 mosquito.
Zapping feature only stays on an hour our so, yet the flashlight feature still works.
Not impressed.

  1. Serves as a good flashlight
  2. It is portable

Cons

  1. The lighting does not last all night
  2. The solar charging does not work

How To Use

  1. Charge the zapper fully.

Is The Zap Guardian A Good Buy

No, there are concerns about durability and refunds, for example, many customers complained that the device broke after just one use, the battery only lasted for a few hours and the company refused to give a full refund despite promising 100 percent refunds. If mosquitoes are a big problem where you live, this gadget is not be the perfect fix you’re hoping for.
