I Tested Bullshot Carpet Cleaner: Does It Work?

By maria Sep2,2024

Did you come across ads promoting the Bullshot Carpet Cleaner and wonder if it really remove tough stains as claimed? I also got caught up in the hype around this Horsepower stain cleaner As Seen On TV. Here’s my honest review after buying and trying it out.

About The Bullshot Carpet Cleaner

Sold for $18.99 on buybullshot.com and bullshotcarpet.com, the Bullshot Carpet Cleaner promises to get rid of tough stains and odors from your carpet by just spraying it directly on the stain without scrubbing it. I was lured in by the claims that it’s toxic free, works great on blood, makeup, juice, coffee and many more.

Testing

My order for two bottles of Bullshot Cleaner took 7 days to arrive. Upon opening, I was hit by a really strong and unpleasant smell which I wasn’t expecting. The Ads I saw on TV claimed the Bull Shot is bio-degradable, with no harsh chemicals, perfumes, or oily residue. But, it did have an odor.

When sprayed directly on my carpet, I observed it didn’t foam as much as was shown on TV. The foaming part on the Ads was certainly photoshopped. To test the Bullshot effectiveness, I poured some drops of red wine on my beige carpet and sprayed the carpet cleaner on the spot. Here’s what I observed; it removed the stain but not totally, the spot still had a faint stain.

On older stains, Bullshot wasn’t effective. I tried it on rust stain caused by my centre table and I didn’t get the desired result.

Pros

  1. No scrubbing required
  2. Easy ordering process

Cons

  1. Doesn’t work effectively on old and tough stains
  2. It is expensive

How to Use

  1. Shake the bottle thoroughly to mix the ingredients.
  2. Apply the cleaner directly to the stained spot, covering the whole area without soaking the carpet.
  3. Leave it on for a few minutes, then wipe it away.

Best Carpet Cleaning Products

Bissell Professional Pet Stain and Odor Formula

This product is great because it uses enzymes to remove stains and odors, which helps prevent pets from soiling the same spot. It worked well on tough stains like red wine and tomato sauce. For best results, cover the spot with a damp towel and let it sit for up to 12 hours.

Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover

It is quick and easy to use, just spray, work it in with your fingertip, and blot with a clean cloth. It’s good for general stains but doesn’t have enzymes, so it’s not the best for pet messes or organic stains. It’s affordable and highly rated by users.

Rocco & Roxie Professional Strength Stain & Odor Eliminator

It works on both carpets and hard surfaces. It’s effective on stains like tomato sauce and coffee. This cleaner has the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal of Approval, meaning it’s safe for carpets. Just be patient, as it needs about 60 minutes to work before you blot and vacuum.
