The rumors on Facebook and Youtube have gotten out of control, In early September, Reese played one of her best games of the season against the Los Angeles Sparks, scoring 24 points, getting 12 rebounds, and making two assists in a 92–78 win for the Sky. But when she missed the last six games of the season, people started saying she was banned.

What Really Happened

Reese was never banned, These claims are completely false. The 22-year-old underwent surgery for a fracture. The injury prevented her from finishing her impressive rookie season strongly, she sustained a wrist injury during the game against the Sparks, which led to her sitting out for the rest of the season. Reese was never caught using steroids by the WNBA, nor has she been suspended.

Where the Rumor Started

It looks like the story about her being banned from the WNBA came from a post by a YouTube channel called ‘Basket Hoops’. The channel’s description says, “We’re big fans of Caitlin Clark, but there’s a lot more to discover.” Whether they’re fans or not, the rivalry between Clark and Reese, which should be good competition on the court, could turn bad if rumours like this keep getting spread.
After the rumour first surfaced, it spread fast, and others began sharing it without checking if it was true.
