Is the MoonPod Vacuum Cleaner Worth It? My Experience and Review

By maria Oct28,2024

Have you heard of the MoonPod Vacuum Cleaner? I must admit, vacuuming used to be a task I dreaded. However, I decided to give the MoonPod a try after seeing it hailed as a top-rated product on a Google-sponsored review site.

Before you consider purchasing from monopod.uk, read this review, where I share my personal experience with the vacuum, along with its pros and cons. This will help you decide whether it’s worth your money or not.

About The MoonPod Vacuum Cleaner

Available for £170 on moonpod.uk, the MoonPod vacuum cleaner claims to be a cordless cleaner with strong suction and good battery life, making it easy to tackle dirt on floors, carpets, and rugs. It has some interesting features, like Infra-red Dust Detection and Automatic Speed Control, which adjust the suction power based on what you’re cleaning. The vacuum can run for up to 45 minutes on a single charge, which is pretty handy. Plus, it offers both Auto and Manual Dual Modes, along with a Smart Touch Screen that makes it easy to use. It was these features that drew me to this cordless cleaner.

My First Experience With The Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

At first, I was impressed by its attractive design and how easy it is to use. The suction is strong on hard floors and short-pile carpets, which I appreciated. However, it struggles with long-pile carpets, and the suction just isn’t up to par. The battery life is average, which is okay but not great.

Putting the vacuum together was not easy, I felt like I was wrestling with it! And once I finally managed to assemble it, emptying the dust cup became another challenge. Getting it back onto the vacuum is nearly impossible unless you have some serious muscle. To top it off, the ‘help’ videos I found online are in Chinese, so I couldn’t make sense of them. Overall, I was disappointed with how it performed on carpets, especially since I was expecting so much more but it ended up picking a few things from the floor.

Pros

  • The product is easy to use
  • The battery lasts long enough for basic cleaning.

Cons

  • Canceling orders is impossible
  • The company isn’t transparent, and the return process is costly
  • Customer service is very poor.
  • The battery life is short

Where To Buy

This vacuum cleaner is available on their official website moonpod.uk and also on moonpod.au.com. The price varies on both websites.

Is The MoonPod Vacuum Cleaner Worth It

To be honest it did not meet my expectations. This vacuum cleaner only works for light tasks, like clearing dust and pine needles from my office and games room floor. The parts are tricky to disconnect, and emptying it feels like a real hassle. To make matters worse, the customer service has been a joke. I found out that I can’t return it just because it doesn’t meet my expectations, even though I marked that option when I ordered it. Its a total waste of money.

What You Need To Know Before Buying From MoonPod.Uk

Poor Customer Service

You can’t even contact the seller directly. Instead, you have to deal with moonpod.uk, which is difficult to reach. Once you do manage to get in touch, they will do everything possible to avoid giving you a refund. The return address on the shipping label is for a Chinese logistics company in Leicester, but they insist you return the product to China, and you have to pay for the shipping yourself!.

Low-Quality Product

The product I received is a low-quality Chinese import. In its default mode, it’s very weak, and you have to increase the power to get decent suction, which drains the battery quickly. The two accessories that come with it are made of cheap plastic and don’t fit well. It’s clear that the product is not worth the money.

Misleading Address Information

The company is marketed as MoonpodUK but it is in fact a Hong Kong company as far as I can see. The company is operating from Hong Kong while misrepresenting itself as a UK business, falsely claiming to have a registered office in the UK. The products themselves come from China and take much longer than the number of days stated on their website. In my case, it arrived after 2 weeks.

Customer Complaints

Lots of customers who bought this product have left negative reports on Trust pilot. There are lots of complaints that this cleaner did not live up to claims made by the manufacturers. Here is a customer report:

Do not buy this vacuum cleaner.
You would be better using a straw and doing it yourself.
Returns and refunds impossible as they refuse to give you their address.
Only one email address and no telephone number.
Have reported to trading standards, consumer action and my bank, and I would encourage anyone in the same position as myself to do the same.
I intend to write to action fraud and the national press.
