Vital Health Ring Review: Can This Smart Ring Really Monitor Your Heart Rate?

By maria Oct29,2024

Can wearing the Vital Health Ring track your heart rate and help you sleep? I came across ads promoting this ring on Instagram, promising it can help keep track of my vital signs simply my wearing it on your finger. But can this ring actually make a difference? Here is how I tested.

Vital Health Ring

About the Vital Ring

The Vital Ring is a budget-friendly health-tracking ring that offers features similar to expensive smart rings but at a lower price. The manufacturers claim its great for seniors who want to monitor their health easily. It claims to track health in real time, making it sound like a great option for keeping an eye on your well-being without spending too much. But the question is, does it really work as promised, or is it too good to be true?

What they promise

  1. Tracks heart rate variability (HRV) continuously.
  2. Monitors sleep patterns 24/7.
  3. Measures blood oxygen levels (SpO2) throughout the day.

How I Tested

I was skeptical before buying the vital health ring but I admit I was deceived by the ads online and the Tiktok videos. I ordered from their official website vitalhealthring.com and the product arrived in 5days without any issues. Quickly I followed the instructions and wore the ring in my left finger.

I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and the only thing I can confirm is how fashionable it looks when I wear it with my trainers as for the promised heart rate monitoring and other claims? They didn’t work or at lest I haven’t seen any effects from it yet. I’m convinced that any positive review about this ring online is probably fake.

Red Flags I Noticed

Unrealistic Health Promises

The Vital Ring claims it can “tell you exactly what’s wrong” with your health in real-time. But honestly, no wearable device can do that.

High-End Features

It advertises advanced features for way less than other similar products. While that caught my attention, I couldn’t help but wonder if the low price meant something important like accuracy and quality.

Unrealistic claims

The ring says it tracks things like heart rate variability, sleep, and blood oxygen levels. But I’ve found that budget gadgets often struggle to provide accurate readings for such metrics.

Lack of Customer Support

One big red flag for me was the website’s disclaimer saying they aren’t responsible for issues or returns. If you have any problems, you must go through a third-party seller.

Generic Design

The design looked identical to a bunch of other smart rings I’ve seen, without anything unique. Plus, I couldn’t find it on trusted sites like Amazon and other genuine online stores.

How to Use the Vital Health Ring

  1. Start by downloading the Vital Health Ring app from your phone’s app store.
  2. Follow the easy steps on your screen to connect your ring to the app in just a few minutes.
  3. Put the ring on your other hand (the one you don’t use as much) and wear it all the time to get the most accurate readings.

Do Smart Rings Work? Expert Opinion

I reached out to few experts and asked for their medical opinion about smart rings. First off, smart rings measure skin temperature, not body temperature, so they aren’t suited for accurate health monitoring. Their SpO2 measurements are far from medical-grade accuracy, and heart rate readings can vary from device to device. Most importantly, despite marketing claims, no smart ring currently available or expected soon actually measures blood pressure. So, depending on them for critical health tracking is not advisable.

Final Thoughts

The Vital health ring does not work, it is more of a fashion statement than an actual medical gadget for monitoring heart rate amongst other claims. Currently there are no genuine customer reviews and the few complaints on Reddit were about other smart gadgets that claim to monitor heart rates too which proved to be fake. I’d save my money if I were you and seek the advice of a health professional.
