It’s Black Friday season and TikTok is frenzy with promotions of Paxa OpenAir 5 OWS Translation Earbuds. Here’s my honest review after buying this product off TikTok Shop.

My Experience Using Paxa OpenAir 5 OWS Translation Earbuds.
The major reason why I bought the earbuds was because of its promised translation feature. For a price of $26 I wasn’t expecting a perfect translation but something understandable.
The instruction manual said the translation feature works with an app. To activate the translator you need to download the earjoy app. I tried it several times on my Android phone but it just wouldn’t work. Even when I gave the app bluetooth permissions to find my earbuds it couldn’t connect.
But on my iPhone the app connected immediately but only translated few Spanish words and stopped translating. Subsequent attempts failed. The translator simply went mute even with a strong internet connection.
Pros
Compact Design
I love the open-ear design which makes the earbuds rest over my ears instead of sitting inside the ear canal. I’ve always had the problem of my earbuds slipping off due to sweaty ears during workouts, but with the Paxa OpenAir 5 Translation Earbuds I didn’t experience the inconvenience of having push in the earbuds every few minutes.
Strong Battery Life
For a full charge the earbuds lasted 4 days even when used to actively listen to music for up to 4hrs daily.
Cons – What I HATE About Paxa OpenAir 5 Translation Earbuds
Not User Friendly
The Paxa OpenAir 5 OWS earbuds isn’t user friendly especially in regards to earbuds connectivity to bluetooth. When connected, it easily disconnects when one mistakenly touch the earbuds.
Doesn’t Work Offline
Without an internet connection, the translation feature wouldn’t work.
Lacks Durability
The earbuds isn’t built to last. During my second week of use, the earbuds case fell from my work table and since then one of the earbuds no longer connects to bluetooth. This is quite unusual. I’ve had many earbuds that survived the fall from my work table.
Poor Translation Capabilities
The translation accuracy and frequency is far from perfect as advertised. Aside from the app connectivity issues experienced, the translation wasn’t in real time. It took almost 10 seconds to translate a word.
