The viral Tecoheat Heater promises to heat rooms in minutes while saving you a lot of money on electricity bills. The claims of this brand made me wonder if it was as great as the YouTube videos marketed it as.
In this review, I’ll be sharing my experience with this heater and giving you reasons why you should not buy this product.
About the Tecoheat Heater
The Tecoheat Heater is advertised as a portable and affordable heater which does the job of traditional heaters while reducing electricity costs. It promises to cut electricity bills by 30% while heating up rooms from top to bottom in less than two minutes. It boasts of its ceramic technology and has an antimicrobial filter.
It is sold for $49.99 on the brands website tecoheat.shop at a 50% discount and up to a 70% discount if you buy three at $149.99 with two heaters added as free gifts.
How to use Tecoheat Heater
Despite the fact that this product didn’t come with a user manual, it is quite easy to use. To use the Tecoheat Heater, simply:
- Plug it into a standard power outlet in a room of your choice.
- Adjust the temperature setting to your liking. It has three adjustments. The high, medium and low.
- Select your preferred mode.
- Unplug or turn off the socket after use.
My Experience using the Tecoheat Heater
I bought my unit from the brands website and after the delayed shipping, my unit was finally delivered.
I immediately connected it to test it only to find out that the heating was literally non-existent. After running it at the highest temperature for a couple of hours I did not notice any heat difference in my room despite the brand claiming it warms up rooms in under two minutes.
This product isn’t also as quiet as claimed. I could hear the blades rotating and couldn’t sleep with its constant whirling noise and had to turn it off at night which defeated my purpose of buying it in the first place.
After a couple more days of using it, it started having a burning smell which was quite worrisome, I had to discontinue using it immediately.
I would say that it did indeed have a sleek and fancy design but by mere looking at it you could tell it was inferior. It also had the smell of cheap plastic right out the box.
Reasons To Avoid Buying This Product
False advertisement:
The Heater is a cheap massively produced in China product sold on Alibaba but advertised as a brand-new invention. Marketed as a product that heats up spaces in seconds, but this outrageous claim has been debunked by independent users.
False endorsements:
Tecoheat claims to be endorsed by a couple of popular media outlets but there’s no evidence to back up these claims. This falsification of claims is rampant among scam websites as it aims to give the victims a false sense of legality and trust.
Generic product images:
Images used on the brands website can be found on other websites and e-commerce stores. This shows that the product isn’t originally theirs to begin with. This is a standard switch-and-bait technique.
Limited contact information:
There is limited to no information about the company behind this product. There is only an email address [email protected] and no mobile number or live-chat option. No listed physical address or company name either.
Website age:
The tecoheat.shop is a fairly new website registered in 2024-11-10 and will expire in 2025-11-10. With only one year, it seems like this website doesn’t intend to be around for a long time.
Limited online presence:
The absence of any social media pages is a huge red flag that should be taken seriously. Every reputable brand has social media accounts as a way to foster long lasting relationships with their clients while promoting sales.
How the Tecoheat Scam works
Source for cheap products:
They buy cheap, low-quality products from mass producers like Temu, Aliexpress, or Amazon, rebrand them, and then sell them to unsuspecting customers at inflated prices. The fact that these products are of inferior quality is usually only discovered upon delivery.
Create a fancy and professional looking website:
These scammers then create fancy websites and creates ads that link directly to these websites. where they offer crazy discounts and promises of charge-back if the products are unsatisfactory and then sell these products sometimes for 10x the original cost.
Stores like these often use high-pressure sales tactics, creating a false sense of urgency with “clearance sales” and “limited offers”.
Invest in legit looking ads:
This is the next and most important step to this operation. To reach out to their potential victims, they run ads all over social media platforms and sometimes go as far as sending spam emails. This way, the word gets spread and unsuspecting victims are gotten hook, line and sinker.
The delivery of inferior goods:
Upon payment, goods are delivered. Sometimes they may take months to be delivered. But once received, customers end up with a subpar or entirely different product than what they ordered. The images may look expensive, but the delivered item would be a cheap knockoff or a low-quality imitation of what was advertised.
Deny refunds and returns:
The final step to this is to deny returns and refunds by finding a million reasons to dissuade the customer. Most times they offer to return a third of the total cost or to send a replacement of the goods which end up being the exact same inferior product.
Don’t fall for the hype – be wary of online stores that seem too good (or cheap) to be true. Always research the store and read reviews from multiple sources before making a purchase.
