By maria Jul22,2024

The StarScope Monocular Telescope is cheaply made, doesn’t zoom, and customer reviews have confirmed this. It’s a major disappointment with huge false advertising. Before you decide to buy it check YouTube reviews and Trustpilot and many more online sites.

StarScope Monocular Telescope

The Truth About StarScope Monocular Telescope: What You Need to Know

The Star Scope doesn’t do what the ads on TV, Facebook, or YouTube claim. It doesn’t have any zoom capabilities. The only zoom effect you get is from your phone itself. The Star Scope only has a focus wheel on top and is set at a fixed distance. It should be sold for much less because it’s just an add-on for your phone, not like binoculars that can zoom in and out. it does not have a zoom function but a fixed 10x magnification, the optical quality is poor to middling.

StarScope Monocular Telescope: Misleading Claims and False Advertising

First of all, we saw an ad for the StarScope telescope claiming it can see as well as an eagle, but that’s simply not true. The ad suggested it could spot a tiny bird miles away across a valley, which it can’t. Despite what they say, the Star Scope will never match the quality of the best DSLR camera lenses. The misleading ads can be found on the Google Newsstand app.

Misleading Location

The site leads you to believe that this product is made in the USA. False advertising! It is shipped from China and appears to be made there as well.

No Customer Service

The website has a non-existant customer service, you can only email and can’t get a legit response to any inquiry including if and when they might actually send you the product you ordered. Instead, they bombard you with boilerplate emails that give you canned excuses.

Reviews From People Who Bought

We found many bad reviews from customers who bought the Star Scope on Amazon and Trustpilot. Here’s one example:

BE AWARE of this scam company. I paid for a monocular G3 at the beginning of April and have not received it. I’ve contacted customer service and they say they have no record of my order but took my money, $57. I can not get a refund so do not trust this outfit they’ll screw you over.

Our Review

The Star Scope doesn’t do what it promises and is too poor in quality to even give to kids. If you try to return it, they’ll offer a partial refund, but you might not get it. Returns are tricky you have to contact them to request a return and cover the shipping costs yourself.
