Coldeez Cooling Ace Scam: An Ugly Experience

By Nora Nov18,2024

Summer comes with the heat of a thousand stars, and we tend to scramble around looking for a way to cool ourselves down. I saw an ad of the Coldeez Cooling Ace and I decided to place an order for it.

I’ll be analyzing everything about this product and if it is worth buying or not.

What is Coldeez Cooling Ace?

The Coldeez Cooling Ace has been aggressively marketed as a small portable air cooler that can cool down any room in just a matter of minutes while consuming less electricity than the traditional air conditioners.

Claims about this product:

  • Excellent customer rating (4.8/5 stars)
  • Very cheap to run (only pennies a day)
  • Made in USA with good quality materials
  • Very lightweight (only 1 pound)
  • Battery lasts for hours
  • Water tank doesn’t leak
  • Very quiet operation (only 20 dB)
  • 3 fan speeds: Cool, Chill, and Freeze
  • Cools rooms down by 30°F fast

Points to Consider – This product is also sold on numerous websites, and they are always with different names. Same product but different names.

How Does Coldeez Cooling Ace Scam Work?

The scammers behind Coldeez Cooling Ace use extremely low prices and exaggerated cooling claims to lure online users. Victims targeted are mostly people who’ve little knowledge of online shopping scams.

Once they fall for the scam and place an order. They receive an inefficient Table Tower Fan that lacks the capacity to blow cold air. It’s only efficient in humidifying the area surrounding it not the entire room as claimed. Customers don’t get a refund nor return the item as a result of limited contact options.

Warning Signs

Deceptive marketing: This product is marketed with dramatically exaggerated claims that don’t match the actual performance, using high-pressure tactics to attract customers. Do not fall for this.

New website: This website was created about 5 months ago and expires in June 2025 making it exactly one year. The fact that they were still a new brand but already offering a 70% is a major red flag.

Shady behavior: The Coldeez Cooling Ace is not listed available on Amazon or any other prominent e-commerce store.

No company information: There is limited to no information about the company behind this product. There is only an email address and a mobile number.

Reviews: There were no reviews on this product. I couldn’t find a single review about this product or the brand on any independent website like TrustPilot, Amazon or any other app. Meanwhile there is a lot of positive reviews on their website. It is safe to assume that these reviews were fabricated.

Aggressive upselling: On the checkout page, you are met with offers to buy more products for more discounts

Generic images: I did a reverse Google image search and found out that the images of their website were the same with other brands and also on Aliexpress where it was sold for much cheaper.

Copied product information: Product information is copied from other websites that are flagged as scam websites. Some of its contents are also copied from similar products on Amazon.

No social media presence: This brand has no social media presence as I was unable to find them on any platform whatsoever. A brand without any social media presence should not be easily trusted.

Refund policy: They claim to offer within 30days if the product is subpar but at the end of the day, they reject credit card chargebacks.

What to do if you got Scammed

Contact your bank: Contact your bank or credit card company immediately to cancel your card. Request for a chargeback on the grounds of fraud and if is unsuccessful, consider requesting arbitration from your credit card issuer to recover your funds. It’s essential to reiterate and resubmit evidence to support your claim, as this can improve your chances of getting refunded.

Check credit reports: Request credit reports to check for any accounts opened fraudulently using your information. Consider placing a credit freeze if advised.

File a complaint: Submit reports about the scam to the FTC and BBB [Better Business Bureau]. You should also provide all relevant records.

Reviews: Leave online reviews and also inform your family and friends to stop other people from falling victim to the same scam.

Conclusion

This product seems like a bait-and-switch scam and should be avoided. Their lack of reviews, subpar product quality, absence of a verified company addresses or background information, raises concerns about their legitimacy. If you’re still interested in buying this product, I recommend buying it from other stores like Aliexpress where it is sold for a much cheaper price. The products are the same both in functionality and durability, so I see no reason buying it at an expensive price.
