Exposing The Equilters.net Scam Store for Quilts

By Samantha Nov10,2024

In early November 2024, Google users searched for details about equilters.net. This was after they had come across beautiful quilts posted on a Facebook page called Equilters Merry Moments.

In my research, I looked at the Facebook page and the website for the ongoing sale. My findings reveal Equilters.net is a scam China based store that engages in bait and switch (i.e What I Ordered vs. What I Got Scam). I advise social media users not to shop from the website.

A Full Glance at Equilters.net Quilt Sale

Equilters.net is offering guitar quilts, vintage skull quilts, funky cat quilts, e.t.c for sale. The website promises social media users quality guilts. Equilters.net looks like a legit online store but it’s impersonating a reputable quilt brand ‘Equilter.com’ to defraud online shoppers.

On the contact us page, 1309 coffeen avenue Sheridan wy 82801 USA is listed as the business address. However, it’s a common virtual address used by majority of online stores located in China. On Who.is, equilters.net website registration details reveal the website was launched on September 2024 by an anonymous person.

Other red flags to note are; unprofessional email address ([email protected]), unsecured payment options (doesn’t accept PayPal), copied legal pages, e.t.c

Scam Reviews & Copyright Infringement

Equilters.net is not the rightful owner and creator of the quilts displayed on the website. The designs belonged to known quilt designers; Equilter.com. The company has released a statement on Facebook warning the public of the ongoing scam.

On the order pages, the website boasts of thousands of 5 star reviews which are not available on the site or elsewhere. The ratings are placed as a tactic to make intending customers trust the online store.

Revealing How The Equilters.net Scam Works

The scammers behind equilters.net lure online shoppers with image of quality quilts but deliver cheap printed material not quilting. The online store is among a huge network of scammers in China that scam customers by sending low-quality products.

All efforts to get a refund prove ineffective as the store goes incommunicado and do not respond to mails. Customers end up being stuck with a product they don’t like.
