Busting The Grunt Style Scam $3.98 Sale Promoted on Facebook

By Samantha Nov10,2024

On 10th November 2024, I noticed social media users searched for information about Grunt Style Sale. This was after they had come across Facebook promotions on a page named Gruntstyle Sale. The Ad claimed Grunt Style is selling online only $3.98 today.

In my research, I looked at the Facebook page, the reviews on the comment section and the website for the ongoing sale. My findings reveal wuoad.com Sale is a scam that isn’t from Grunt Style. I advise social media users not to partake in the sale.

A Full Glance at Wuoad.com Scam Grunt Style Sale

Wuoad.com promises social media users quality Grunt Style hoodies for just $3.98 (up to 90% off). The website claims the low price is as a result of an ongoing Black Friday Sale. The website looks like a legit Grunt Style website but it’s impersonating the clothing brand to defraud shoppers.

Wuoad.com website registration details reveal the website was launched on September 2024. The registrant information is redacted for privacy which is different from the legit Grunt Style website.

When you click on the link posted on Facebook it takes you to a specially created page for ‘Grunt Style Black Friday Sale’, but when you visit wuoad.com directly, it’s a different website design. The home page looks like any other fast fashion website.

Other red flags to note are; unprofessional email address ([email protected]), no business address, unsecured payment options (doesn’t accept PayPal), copied legal pages, e.t.c

Wuoad.com Scam Reviews & Grunt Style Images

The customer reviews posted on the Gruntstyle Sale Facebook page have clear signs of manipulation. One user claimed to have received the $3 shirts and posted an image showing a faceless person wearing a shirt. The Facebook profile is that of someone from Taipei, Taiwan, somewhere in China.

Other reviews found online are complaints from people who’ve been scammed by Wuoad.com. On Gruntstyle.com Facebook Page, lots of people have left reviews stating they didn’t get the shirts or get a refund even after waiting for months.

It’s possible that Wuoad.com is among a huge network of scammers in China, nicknamed the ‘Uniqueness ring’. This name is due to the fact they use the same awful 2018 era dropshipping site template, and the ‘about us’ page has a bullshit phrase in the intro about ‘uniqueness’. The websites run all sorts of ads. They even run ads to AliExpress junk, like other dropshippers. Then they scam customers by sending nothing or in some case random low-quality products.

Revealing How The Scam Grunt Style $3.98 Sale Works

The scammers behind wuoad.com use numerous sale ‘Black Friday Sale’ ‘Halloween Sale’ ‘Labor Day’ e.t.c to lure users on social media. The discount price could be as low as $3 or $1. Victims targeted are mostly people who’ve little knowledge of online shopping scams.

Once they fall for the scam and place an order. Wuoad.com sends a fake confirmation email and tracking info. However, there’s no package in transit. Customers don’t receive their package or get a refund.
