By Samantha Oct4,2024

Have you come across promotions for Fab Over 40 contest? Are you wondering if it’s worth competing for or if it’s a scam? You’re not alone. Here’s all you need to know about Fabover40 votefab40.com contest.

What is Fab Over 40?

Fab Over 40 which means Fabulous Over 40 is a yearly contest that celebrates beautiful women over 40 years old. Hosted by Colossal, it’s used to create awareness, raise funds and provide support for breast cancer.

The online contest started in 2021 and this year the winner will be displayed in the cover of NewBeauty Magazine, would enjoy a luxury spa-cation, and also take home $40,000.

How Does The Fabover40 Contest Work?

The Fabulous Over 40 contest works via online votes, social media sharing, and paid votes. To participate, one has to register on votefab40.com, providing details like name, email address, mobile phone number and photo.

During the contest everyone wins the first round which is free. The next rounds involve fierce contesting via paid votes and social media sharing to progress in the competition.

Is Fabover40 Real?

Yes, it’s a real and legitimate online contest for women over 40 years old all over the world. Where the winner gets to appear on the cover of NewBeauty magazine, plus a luxury spa-cation and a winning prize of $40,000.

However, winning the Fabover40 contest is pretty tough and only possible for those who are popular. The past winners are; GINA DE SIMONE (2023), APRIL WILCOX (2022), and TERI COLEMAN (2021).

What You Should Know Before Registering

The organization powering the contest ‘Collosal’ takes 50% of the money for profit purposes. They get people to pay money for votes which they claim are donated for providing early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.

Reading the Terms & Conditions page on votefab40.com, Only 50% of the votes money is actually donated to the cause. The “Fundraising Campaign” operator – DTCare – takes LITERALLY 50% of all donations, which they justify as “competition fees” (36.5%) and “variable costs” (13.5%).

Hundreds of thousands to millions may be donated.

Let’s break it down: suppose the contest gathers $200,000 in donations, after deducting 50% for various fees and costs, they would end up with about $100,000. Reflecting on these numbers leads me to ponder the transparency and distribution of these funds. The simple fact that 50% is for-profit for an online contest seems wildly inefficient, as per a peer.

What I Think About The NewBeauty Fab Over 40 Contest

The Fab Over 40 contest though real it feels more like a promotional tool designed to generate buzz and money rather than a fair competition. If you’re thinking about entering, it’s important to keep that in mind and manage expectations. Winning the contest involves investing heavily of paid votes and social media shares. This is best suited for those who’ve a large following or are willing to spend more money.

Another aspect that made me wary was the lack of transparency about how the final winners would be selected. Though they claim judges will make the final decision, it felt unclear how much influence the voting had in the process.
