Low Quality Products

Hats sold on ugly-hat.com are not of superior quality as promised. Manufactured in China, customers reported receiving inferior cheap hats made from plastic.

Delayed Shipping & Delivery

Though Ugly-hat.com boasts of two weeks delivery span, customer reviews say otherwise. The store took almost four weeks to deliver packages.

Packaging Issues

Hats sold on the store aren’t delivered in boxes but in plastic bags. As a result of this, the hats end up destroyed; squished and defective.

Unfavorable Refund Policy

The online store doesn’t grant return labels. For returns, customers have to pay exorbitant shipping cost to China (almost 20$) which itself may end up costing you nearly the original cost of the hat. The refund policy says ”All the cost caused by the returning shall be borne by the buyer“.

Is Ugly-hat.com a Scam?

 All evidence and feedbacks point to the fact that Ugly-hat.com is a scamming site. Aside from delivering inferior products, the online store passes off Etsy hat images stolen as theirs then makes a cheap imitation.

Customers are lured with the promises of all hats come in a box and manufactured in USA claims but instead receive inferior hats made in China and shipped in plastic bags. This is a typical online shopping scam.

How The Scam Works

The Ugly-hat online store scam is strategically planned. First, the persons behind the store invests heavily in social media advertisement, baiting social media users with low prices and opening sale discounts.

Once they click on the link and visit the website, a countdown timer urges them to place an order immediately or lose out in the big discount sale. This is a sales gimmick that is used to drive sales. In reality, the countdown timer doesn’t end but refreshes each day.

After placing an order, the scam store sends a fake tracking details and claims the package is in transit. When customers attempt tracking the package, it’s unsuccessful. Then all of sudden the package is delivered after almost a month but it’s different from the images shown on the website.

Customers haven’t been able to get any feedback from Ugly-hat.com or get a refund. This is typical of an online shopping scam. Aside from non-delivery of purchased items and delivery of inferior products, customers credit card details are also compromised when they shop from Ugly-hat.com.

Warning Signs

No Business Address

The online store fails to provide information about its address on the website. There’s no warehouse address or headquarter address listed. This indicates a lack of transparency which is common with untrustworthy businesses.

No Contact

The site only offers an email address ‘[email protected]’ for enquiries. There’s no telephone number or live chat support which is unusual.

Negative Reviews

On Ugly-hat.com Facebook and TrustPilot.com page there are hundreds of complaints from customers. Majority of buyers are disappointed and have labelled Ugly-hat.com a scam.

I recieved my Black Cherry Western Wellema Order 10940 today. All the way from China. IT IS NOT what is pictured in the advertising photos. The crown is wrong. The ribbot is falling out. It feels like a plastic ‘cheap costume’ hat. And it is NOT the size I ordered. Frankly its a piece of crap. I would return it… but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to send it all the way back to china. I would dearly love to trash your Facebook ads about this situation. but theres no way that I can find to do so without puting my FB pages in jeapardy. But, know that I am telling everybody I can. Your product is garbage, and “ugly-hat.com” should be avoided.

The website would expire in February 2025. This indicates it was created for a short term plan. Reputable websites typically register domains for multiple years, indicating stability and a commitment to their business.

The content on the website are generic. The About Us, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy have been copied. Legitimate business always source and provide their own legal pages in order to protect both the business and customers right.

The first step you should take is finding out if the giveaway has been posted on the company’s social media accounts. If it hasn’t, the giveaway is likely a scam.

Check For Grammatical and Spelling Mistakes

Scan the clearance post. Do you notice bad grammar, missing words, or spelling mistakes? These are red flags for a scam. Any company can make a minor mistake when typing out a win notification. However, multiple or glaring errors are a bad sign.

Check Website Registration Age

How old is the website? The domain age of a website tells a lot about a store’s legitimacy or transparency. Websites below 6 months old are often considered unsafe. You can find out a website’s age by checking on Who.is ( a free domain checker tool)

Find Out If The Website Used Has SSL Encryption

find out if the website is secured with SSL encryption. (https and padlock symbols). If the padlock symbol doesn’t appear near the website’s URL, then it means your personal and financial information is at risk at the store.

Search for Reviews Online

Are there reviews or posts about the clearance sale online? It’s common for various news outlet to carry information about legit discount sales. By searching for reviews online you could also come across warning posts or complaints.
