An Article is currently trending online that saysJoanna Gaines have gained partnership with Omaha Steaks for a premium steak giveaway of free Great Steaks Sample. It’s not legit but a scam giveaway. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you should know;
The giveaway is posted on a fake Food Network website. Health-us.shop uses Food Network logo and website design to trick people into thinking it’s the legit Food Network site (foodnetwork.com).
Omaha Steaks has not mentioned a partnership with Joanna Gaines or an ongoing giveaway on its social media pages.
The giveaway scam isn’t a new one. There has been a rise in fake giveaways since December 2023. The names of celebrities are used to make the fake giveaway look real. For example; Blake Shelton, Ayesha Curry, Selena Gomez, Lainey Wilson, Taylor Swift, etc were once used in a Le Creuset giveaway scam.
Health-us.shop was registered on 11th June 2024, barely a month ago.
Do not be fooled by the giveaway Ads on social media with fake celebrity endorsements. The scam message says
Hey y’all it’s Joanna and Chip Gaines here and we are so excited to announce our new partnership with Omaha Steaks to giveaway their amazing Great Steaks Sampler kit to fellow fans of Joanna’s in the kitchen.
Joanna Gaines and Chip Gaines are not involved in promoting an Omaha Steaks giveaway.
How The Giveaway Scam Works
The Joanna Gains Omaha Steaks Giveaway Scam post has a link that looks legit, but you’ll have to pay $9.99 for shipping upfront to access the giveaway. It claims you can cook any steak you want from Omaha Steaks, but it’s actually a sneaky subscription scam. This will end up charging your credit card much more than promised.
Instead of the $9 shipping fee, the scammers trap victims into a monthly subscription scam. The Terms & Conditions written in small prints says ”You’ll be charged a one time charge of $119 at checkout ”

Why It’s A Scam
Unauthorized Charges and Personal Data Theft
The websites involved in this scam are not secured. There’s a lack of SSL and trusted payment merchant like PayPal. This means sensitive data like credit card details can easily be stolen and used for fraud. Instead of getting the steak you paid for, you’ll see extra charges on your credit card.
Fake Reviews
On the comment section of the fake giveaway posts on Facebook and the website, there are comments and reviews from people posing as winners. However, when we looked at the profiles, we discovered they were recently created.
Hidden Subscription
On the order page, there are very tiny letters which can easily be overlooked. A close inspection shows it’s a legal stipulation that says people signing up to a subscription. When you pay the $9.99 shipping fee, you’re automatically signing up for a subscription service. You’ll end up being charged every month, and you won’t get the Steak as promised.
What To Do If You Got Scammed
Cancel your credit card
Immediately call your financial provider and cancel your credit card. By so doing, the credit card details you used for your transaction would become null and void.
Request for a new card
After the old credit card has been cancelled, ask for a new card, it doesn’t cost much to get one. Your credit card issuer will issue you a new one with different numbers.
Report the Fraud To Relevant Authorities
Report the scam to relevant authorities and organizations. This includes:
Better Business Bureau (BBB): File a complaint with the BBB if the online store is based in the United States.
Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): If you are in the United States, you can file a complaint with the IC3 at https://www.ic3.gov/.
Your Local Consumer Protection Agency: Contact your local consumer protection agency or the equivalent regulatory body in your country.

It’s a dirty rotten shame that so much corruption used in these giveaways is ongoing. Why can’t the government do more about it. Truthfully I don’t think our government knows how to shut all these scams. Take my advice and don’t click on any of these so called giveaways.
