To ascertain the legitimacy of Sikaic.com.com, I looked at the following metrics;

  • The price point – Is it too good to be true?
  • It’s business address – Where does the website physically operate from?
  • Its History and Reputation – How long has the online store been functioning?

Customer Reviews – What Do Customers Say About Sikaic.com?

Delayed Deliveries & False Stock Information

One customer shared their frustration after ordering a coffee table:

“I ordered a coffee table on November 18th, as the website indicated the product was in stock. After two weeks with no updates, I contacted support and was told to wait until December 20th. On that date, I received another email stating the product was ‘out of stock’ and was offered a different color instead. After waiting a month, this was unacceptable! I requested a full refund and will never purchase from this site again.”

Another buyer reported a similar experience with a dressing table:

“I ordered a dressing table for my girlfriend’s birthday and waited two months. Her birthday passed, and I still had no delivery. Despite claiming to be ‘out of stock,’ the same product was still listed on their website with a 9-11 day delivery time.”

Refund Issues & Poor Customer Support

Customers also express frustration over Sikaic.com’s refund policies:

“I wanted to return an item, but they initially offered me just 30 euros for a product worth 250. After declining, they increased their offer to 80 euros but refused a full refund. Since then, they have ignored my messages. Terrible company and customer service!”

Why You Should Avoid This Online Store

Sikaic.com has a poor trust score given to the following red flags;

It offers significantly lower prices compared to similar offerings in the market. As the saying goes ”If it’s too good to be true it certainly isn’t true’ The very low price acts as bait to lure customers into what could be an online shopping scam.

Sikaic.com doesn’t accept PayPal payments. PayPal offers strong buyer protection features, allowing customers to dispute charges if they receive the wrong item or don’t receive an item at all, which a seller might be trying to avoid if they are engaging in fraudulent practices

Lacks transparency and accountability. Sikaic.com lists its physical address as 301 Grove Rd, Suites#200, West Deptford, Thorofare, NJ 08086 but on looking it up, we found out that this address has nothing to do with Sikaic.com and this raises suspicions. This falsehood is very suspicious and begs caution.

Limited contact information. The website only has a listed email address [email protected] but no mobile number or live chat coupled with its weak social media accounts. This means the store isn’t actively interacting with potential customers, which can indicate poor customer service and a lack of commitment to the brand.

Poor customer ratings. Independent reviews on YouTube provide insights into the store’s lack of legitimacy. There is also no reviews TrustPilot.com as opposed to the glowing reviews on the website which seem overly promotional. All these reveal poor trustworthiness and zero feedback from the website.

Sikaic.com Store – Should You Take The Risk?

The cons outweigh the pros of shopping from the website. Once you make a purchase, the product may never arrive, or you’ll receive subpar or counterfeit goods that don’t match what was advertised. Aside from receiving an inferior order, your credit card details could be stolen, hence leading to unauthorized credit card charges.

Meanwhile, getting a refund could be almost impossible even if the payment goes through via PayPal. There’s a current loophole in the system that scammers exploit which PayPal has been unable to clamp down on. Here’s how scammers exploit the PayPal system –

  • Send a fake tracking code to you (which contains an address close to yours.
  • Claim the item has been delivered
  • Send PayPal a delivery proof which contains your area address (area code)

With this, PayPal believes the items have been delivered and when file a complaint it’s impossible to get a refund as PayPal sees it as a completed purchase

What To Do If You Got Scammed By This Online Store

Cancel your credit card

Immediately call your financial provider and cancel your credit card. By so doing, the credit card details you used for your transaction would become null and there wouldn’t be any unauthorised credit card charges.

Request for a new card

After the old credit card has been canceled, ask for a new card, it doesn’t cost much to get one. Your credit card issuer will issue you a new one with different numbers.

Report

Report the scam to relevant authorities and organizations. This includes:

  • Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): If you are in the United States, you can file a complaint with the IC3 at https://www.ic3.gov/.
  • Your Local Consumer Protection Agency: Contact your local consumer protection agency or the equivalent regulatory body in your country.
  • Better Business Bureau (BBB): File a complaint with the BBB if the online store is based in the United States.

Shop Smarter Online Using These Tips;

This is how I am able to spot scam websites and avoid being a victim of online shopping scams.

Having experienced the ugliness of online shopping scams, here’s how to avoid being a victim in the future;

  • Search for reviews before placing an order. If there are no reviews online about the website, you need to proceed cautiously.
  • Be skeptical of very low prices, especially Ads on social media offering huge discounts on sought-after products.
  • Be wary of Poor design – Fake websites often have poor design, bad grammar, and low-quality images. If you notice any of these on a website, then it’s better to do proper research before going ahead.
  • Check the store’s Contact Us page – is there a business address available? If yes, does it really exist or does a different business come up on Google when you search for the address?
  • Find out if the website is secured with SSL encryption. (https and padlock symbols). Legitimate websites often use “https” (hypertext transfer protocol secure) in their URL. If the padlock symbol doesn’t appear near the website’s URL, then it means your personal and financial information is at risk at the store.

Conclusion

Our analysis has revealed that while Sikaic.com may not be an outright scam website, it is advisable to approach this store with caution or just shop somewhere else that doesn’t have so many red flags.
