Is The Oribreeze Air Cooler Worth the Hype? Find Out in My Review!

By Samantha Jun19,2024

So it’s summer and you’re thinking of affordable ways to deal with the heat. You must’ve come across ads for Oribreeze air cooler and you want to know if it’s legit or a disguised scam. Good news, we’ve got the answer to your questions.

At the end of this article you should know;

  • How Ori Breeze actually works
  • If it can cool a room in minutes
  • If the Oribreeze air cooler is worth the price it’s sold for
  • Is Ori Breeze a scam?

How Oribreeze Air Cooler Actually Works

Ori Breeze or Oribreeze is marketed on the internet as a cutting-edge, electricity-saving air cooler that uses 90% less energy than regular cooler. It’s said to be portable, affordable, and cools the room instantly, saving you money on your electric bills.

BUT……the truth about the Oribreeze is that it does not even come close to being an ‘Air Cooler’. The Oribreeze is basically a fan that’s blowing out water in minute amounts. It cannot be an A/C unit if it is self-contained. A/C units are heat pumps — they remove heat from the air and transport the heat to another location, i.e. usually out of the space that you want to cool (think of a refrigerator moving heat from inside the closed space to the outside of it).

Is Oribreeze Effective in Cooling a Room?

The Oribreeze is not equipped to cool a large space like a room. The advertising and branding of this product is deceptive. Oribreeze only humidifies the air surrounding your feet, and can not work as an air conditioner or regular fan.

Is The Ori Breeze Air Cooler Really Worth $57?

The Oribreeze is sold for a 57% discount price of $57. According to the numerous websites selling the product, it’s a limited discount. In reality, the Ori Breeze is not worth $57 or even the $100+ displayed on the site. This exact ‘air cooler’ is sold for far cheaper prices on reputable online shopping sites. For example, on Alibaba it’s sold for $11, on Aliexpress.com the price is $18.20, while on Amazon.com it’s sold for $32.70. (see image below)

Is Oribreeze a Scam?

I wouldn’t outrightly call the Oribreeze a scam perse, but one thing is certain; it’s sold with hell lots of deceptive marketing. Majority of the claims made are false and over stretched. The 5 star ratings and reviews displayed on the website (ori-breeze.com and oribreeze.com) are fake and not from real buyers. There’s no platform called TrustRate for reviews, rather there’s TrustPilot which has only negative reviews from Oribreeze buyers.

Here’s how the deceptive marketing works –

  • Someone buys hundreds of this ‘air cooler’ for $5 each or less on Alibaba.com
  • Customizes it with the name ‘Ori Breeze’
  • Pays someone to set up a well designed website with integrated payment system
  • Pays a copywriter to write a fake ‘groundbreaking’ invention story or sales copy
  • Pads up the price and then uses a discount marketing gimmick with a fake limited countdown timer
  • Works with digital marketers and advertised the product on different social media platforms

This person or seller sometimes might also indulge in fraudulent practises like charging buyers more than the stated price, sending a fake tracking details, fail to send the order, and stop all communication with customers.
